Jesus, what a stud!

I remember when these songs came out. Other artist were quick to cover them. But originals were always better to me. She certainly was original and a true talent. Sorry that she left us...

Taylor Swift!! You can't do this!!!

There are times when you just want to relax and reflect. This song done by Laura Nyro is an escape into that place you can go to and do just that. In this busier than ever 21st century world a gem of a songstress and artist like Laura Nyro is refreshing to the soul. Lawrence Gee from Baltimore introduced me to Laura Nyro in California at the now closed Fort Ord. RIP Laura the Pop songstresses of today have nothing on you.

I'm getting so disappointed in James Taylor of late .. All those tunes I thought HE composed - it turns out they were written by someone else before his versions came out. wth? So is he basically just a singer and guitarist? No Nobel Prize for him ...

Laura is my safe place to go when everything seems going wrong. I love you, my angel in the dark.

Every note I've ever written as a songwriter was inspired by Laura. I miss her so. When I heard this cover, my whole world changed.

WIKIPEDIA: "Laura Nyro recorded "Up on the Roof" for her 1970 album Christmas and the Beads of Sweat and a single, affording Nyro her sole Hot 100 appearance with a number 92 peak. Nyro's version slows down the song's tempo and also omits the lyrics sung to the first of the original's three bridge sections."

So sweet, so rare, so overwhelming vocally. It appears "the lot in life of "the purest, most endearing & talented artists thru modern history suffer a tragic, shortened life, leaving only there acclaimed, sometimes under appreciated works as their "footprints" thru this life. The most wicked, crooked evil ones seem to keep on ticking like the old "TIMEX WATCH" commercial. No one, nowhere, has found an answer. So, " QUE SERA SERA"(WHAT WILL BE WILL BE"(DORIS DAY)
